CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution is a 2.4% alkaline glutaraldehyde solution with excellent tuberculocidal and high-level disinfection capabilities. CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution provides effective high-level disinfection of a wide range of endoscopes and other medical devices.
CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution achieves high-level disinfection in 45 minutes at 25°C.
Yes. CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution is packaged with an activating chemical.
CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution can be re-used up to 14 days. ASP recommends testing for the minimum effective concentration (MEC) prior to each use with CIDEX® Solution Test Strips(14 days).
Easy-to-use and easy-to-read test strips designed specifically for use with CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution are available to measure the MEC. ASP recommends testing for the MEC prior to each use.
CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution is compatible with a wide range of endoscopes and other medical devices, including metal, plastic and elastomer devices. CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution is effective in the presence of 2% organic soil, and destroys all vegetative forms of bacteria, including 100% of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in 45 minutes at 25°C.
The following times and temperatures are recommended:
* When used or reused in a legally marketed automatic endoscope reprocessor that can be set to a minimum of 25°C according to the directions for use.
ASP has determined that several brands of gloves provide adequate protection for working with CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution for typical exposure times of 5 to 10 minutes. Refer to product labeling and MSDS for additional information regarding personal protective equipment (PPE).
CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution can be discarded down hospital and office drains in accordance with local regulations. Immediately dispose of any glutaraldehyde-soiled rags or towels by rinsing with water and discarding in a closed plastic bag. Please check disposal requirements with your local agency.
ASP recommends that areas in which CIDEX® Activated Dialdehyde Solution is used be well ventilated. As with any chemical, a minimum of 10 air exchanges per hour is recommended. For facilities using up to 3.4% glutaraldehyde products, ASP recommends keeping glutaraldehyde vapors within OSHA guidelines.
