The STERRAD® Systems technology employs hydrogen peroxide gas plasma that rapidly sterilizes medical instruments without leaving toxic residues. Utilizing this technology, STERRAD® Systems sterilize a variety of instruments and medical devices including those sensitive to heat and moisture.
STERRAD® Systems offer simple, one-button operation with intuitive touch-pad controls and easy-to-follow prompts and instructions. For complete operational information, please consult the Instructions for Use or User's Guide for each system.
The STERRAD® 100S System requires only a 220-208 VAC, 20A, 50/60Hz electrical outlet for power. In general, STERRAD® Systems do not require a water source, heat booster, or ventilation for installation.
The STERRAD® 100S System facilitates rapid, high-volume sterilization. Its 55-minute cycle time is 14 times faster than a single EtO cycle, which means instruments are terminally sterilized and ready for use, eliminating the need for duplicate inventories. An ASP representative can help you identify how the STERRAD® 100S System will generate the greatest return for your investment.
The STERRAD® 100S System offers superior material compatibility with 95% of metal and nonmetal devices including fiberoptic, electronic, powered, and microsurgical devices as well as medical instruments sensitive to heat and moisture. To find out which devices and materials are compatible with the STERRAD® 100S System, contact ASP Customer Support at 888-783-7723 or e-mail aspservices@aspus.jnj.com.
Using dry, low-temperature, gas plasma technology, STERRAD® Systems provide a faster cycle time than EtO. Additionally, STERRAD® Systems sterilize heat-stable as well as heat-sensitive and moisture-sensitive instruments. STERRAD® Systems are also gentler on your delicate instruments, reducing instrument damage and repair costs, especially as compared with peracetic acid systems. Importantly, optimized processing speed and versatility increase the availability of ready-to-use instruments. STERRAD® Systems do not produce harmful byproducts, eliminating the need for aeration and ventilation. This makes STERRAD® Systems safer for both operators and the environment.
Yes. In fact, STERRAD® Systems can be used to sterilize a wide range of instruments, including those sensitive to heat and/or moisture. STERRAD® Systems achieve a 10-6 SAL (Sterility Assurance Level) of packaged instruments.
APTIMAX® instrument trays have been specially designed for use in all STERRAD® Systems. APTIMAX trays are also compatible with other sterilization technologies, including EtO and steam. ASP offers a full line of mats and holders for use with APTIMAX® trays. Please contact ASP Customer Support at 888-783-7723 or e-mail aspservices@aspus.jnj.com with questions about compatibility of non-ASP tray systems.
