IFIC Names Winner of the 2011 Martin S. Favero Award, Sponsored by ASP

The International Federation of Infection Control (IFIC) recently announced that the winner of the 2011 Martin S. Favero award is Professor G French from the UK. Through a partnership with ASP, the IFIC grants this award to recognize significant international contributions in the field of infection prevention and to honor the achievements of Marty Favero, ASP’s longtime Director of Scientific & Clinical Affairs (now retired).

This year’s recipient, selected from an impressively strong international field for his lifetime contributions to global infection prevention, will receive the award at the annual IFIC conference in October and deliver one of the conference’s keynote lectures. See the IFIC’s award announcement here.

In addition to this IFIC award in his name, Marty was honored in 2010 with a Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Lifetime Achievement Award and was recognized by his colleagues in an American Journal of Infection Control article. All of us at ASP are very proud of Marty’s accomplishments in raising the standards of patient care during his legendary career with ASP.
