Johnson & Johnson Receives UN 2011 Humanitarian Of The Year Award

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has recognized Johnson & Johnson for its leading role in support of the UN’s Every Woman Every Child initiative, which aims to meet the UN Millennium Development Goals in women and children’s health. Though not yet approved outside the U.S., the Company has signed five generic licensing agreements to speed affordable access to the medicine in sub-Saharan Africa, India and least developed countries (LDCs). The company also continues to research treatments in HIV and TB and new technologies to prevent HIV transmission.
